Welcome! 

You are entering the world of Algebra!  It is a challenging and demanding world, but with me as your guide, I hope you will enjoy your stay.

Supplies:

·         Binder – You’ll be required to keep a 3-ring binder or folder for this class. It should contain your notes, as well as any handouts, worksheets, and tests we’ve taken.  I will NOT collect or check these binders, but you need to ensure that you are taking good notes and staying organized.

·         Paper –  You will need some lined paper.

·         Pencils – Nobody’s perfect, errors happen, make them erasable.

·         Calculator – students must have their own. (any scientific or TI-83 graphing)

Classwork and Tests:

·         There will be at least one graded classwork or test every week. 

·         If you are absent on the day of a test you will need to see me to schedule a make-up test. You will receive a different version than the original.

         You have two weeks to complete a make-up test or quiz.

·         Tests will be announced and posted several days in advance.  If you are absent the day before a test and return on the day of the test you will be expected to take the test with the rest of the class.

Homework/Problem of the Week:

·         Homework which is complete on the day it is due will receive full credit.

·         Problem of the Week (POW)

1.       You will receive a POW every week, which will be graded.

2.       I do not accept late Problems of the Week!

Portfolios:

·         To be discussed at a later date

Extra Help:

ü  After School – days I am available will be announced and must sign up at least one day prior
